RTI Helps Formerly Incarcerated Individuals Earn Microsoft Excel Certification Through Lone Star College System Partnership
Lone Star College System (LSCS) recently spotlighted RTI's Second Chance Hiring Program, highlighting how RTI Artisans who were formerly incarcerated completed free computer skills classes through LSCS. The program is funded by a federal grant and builds on RTI's Second Chance Hiring Program. In total, 22 participants completed the computer fundamentals course and 15 graduated from the advanced Microsoft Excel Associate Certification program.
First established in 2018 through RTI's affiliation with the CrossWalk Center, the Second Chance Hiring Program has provided opportunities for more than a hundred men seeking a fresh start to build meaningful careers and make a lasting impact at RTI. RTI CEO Cody Nath co-founded the program, which has increased retention rates at RTI and given formerly incarcerated individuals a life-changing opportunity to have jobs.
