RTI Presenting on Workforce Development and Renewable Diesel Shutdowns at AFPM Summit

Refined Technologies is looking forward to joining industry peers at the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) Summit in Grapevine, Texas. Throughout the event, RTI team members will participate in discussions focused on two topics that are critical to the industry's future: workforce development and operational excellence.

The AFPM Summit brings together leaders from across the refining and petrochemical industries to exchange ideas, share lessons learned, and explore practical solutions to today's most pressing challenges. This year's event will be held at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center.

Exploring the Impact of Second-Chance Hiring

On Tuesday, September 1, at 3:00 p.m. Central Time, Heather Broeder, P.E., will moderate Untapped Talent, a panel discussion featuring Warren Wright, MACL, and Paul McCann Jr.

The session will explore the role second-chance hiring can play in strengthening organizations, teams, and communities. Attendees will hear firsthand perspectives on how overlooked talent pools can create meaningful opportunities for both individuals seeking employment and employers looking to build engaged, capable workforces.

As labor challenges continue across many sectors, discussions like these highlight practical approaches to workforce development while emphasizing the value people can bring when given the opportunity to contribute and grow.

Strategies for Successful Renewable Diesel Shutdowns

On Wednesday, September 2, at 11:00 a.m. Central Time, Ryan Roth will co-present Shutdown, Dialed In, an interactive discussion focused on renewable diesel unit shutdowns.

The session will cover planning and execution strategies that help operations teams deliver safe, predictable, and efficient shutdown outcomes. Topics will include key considerations for preparation, coordination, execution, and risk management, along with lessons learned that can help facilities improve reliability and performance during major maintenance events.

As renewable diesel production continues to expand, effective shutdown management remains an important factor in maintaining operational excellence and protecting facility throughput.

RTI received the Donald T.
